Shit.........I just paid property tax on my residence and rental properties............GOODGAWDALMIGHTY.......I been raped by .gov.......

I was expecting mine to go down by about $1,700 this year and the bill went UP by about $2,000. Thanks, cRook county, for changing the equalization factor (tax rate).

My property taxes are over $6k, for a 2500 sq ft house on a 4 acre lot.

Just paid $2900... half the years taxes.

I just looked up the Home I grew up in. 15K a year for 2700 SQFT on 1 acre with a pool. That the 2012 estimate. It's closer to 17K now I guess.

Just yesterday I got my prop tax bill should be about 400 bux, same as last year....appraisers office lowered the prop value by 3000 bux from last year, so a slight reduction in taxes......1600' 2 car garage....1/4 acre built in '72 same as my vette......

Thankfully Florida has the mouse to pay our taxes for us, much less the lodging taxes for winter refugees.....

but Tejas has the oil industry, so I can't see why their prop taxes are so high, true they have no income tax, same as Florida.....

Sounds about right. Driving 95 through MD and DE is insane for tolls. Over $10 to go 30 feckin' miles.

Home is 5k + sq ft but small lot at just under half acre and we're paying close to $8000. That's pushin' Joisey taxes although, ironically, much of our development is NY/NJ metro commuters.

My bet is between Sales tax and state income taxes we are still ahead of the game. Now.

Whenever I'm in Florida I get startled when told about "Sale Tax"

I've gotten spoiled. At Least FL will not tax my Dividends check .

Plus when I homestead later this year the Property tax rate drops on the FL home by about 1K.
