She just needs a man with proper wedding tackle.

Man, I would love to see you get one. I haven't had my '96 for very long, and the two other Corvette's I owned were C3's, but what I love about the '96 is that it still has that analog feel. Certainly much more refined than the C3's that I owned, but it still retains that raw feeling of the earlier cars.

Why not pick up a C4 ZR1? You have your track cars, an unmodified vintage cruiser might fit the bill

Have a seven car "collection" as of now.Four of them are daily drivers split between the three of us.2 are icons and will never lose any real value the vette and a near mint fj40,the last is a 74 Impala custom a personal favorite cause my mother had one back in the day.I still want another 73 Cutlass but a 442 instead of a Supreme another car from my youth.
I do have a large cache of gm,cruiser and speed parts that at some point I need to do something with as my son has no clue what they are.But for now they fit what I still own.

I read it wrong. She’s 43 now, has been doing IVF since she was 35.

Dad bought a '69 Impala off the showroom floor. It never appealed to me until now. Sentimental reasons, I guess. It was a land yacht to a little kid like me then. Family also went through a '75 Cutlass and a '79. And many others...dad liked to trade...all the time...wouldn't keep a car a year it seemed.

My uncle got the Impala brand new and soon gave it to my mother as he got a company car to use,dad also got a 4 door Cutlass new in 74 and I had a string of 73-75 Supreme's as a kid. They were cheap and plentiful

Just because it consumed your time and money and energy, does not mean that anyone else will value or appreciate it later on when you are gone.

Most I ever had at one time was seven around 2002. All nice, good running cars. They included all stock and original '81 El Camino (46k), '84 TA (64k), '83 Camaro F41 coupe (44k). I also had a '91 Tbird (my dd), '79 Camaro with a built small block, '76 Road Runner (96k with a highly modified complete drivetrain ("Best In Class" at the '97 Chrysler Southeast Regionals)), and a '72 Nova (66k. Custom paint and interior).

Ex wife once said, "You know, when people drive by they think "Look at all those cars sitting in that yard".
I replied, "No, sweetie. When guys drive by the think "LOOK AT ALL THOSE CARS SITTING IN THAT YARD!!!"
Sadly, by 2005 we separated and I had to sell off the cars to pay off her half of the house so I could keep it.
I have four now at the house now. The '89 Dodge Ram (124k), '86 Tbird Turbo Coupe (92k), 00 I30t (115k) and her 04 Murano. We also have a 2001 QX4 (165k) at the house in Florida. It needs some work and hasn't moved in two years. Only one not capable of being a daily driver.
But I am shopping...

Told the Inlaws nobody would want most of their stuff and told FIL to sell his hobby stuff as one we wouldn't know what it's worth and two don't want it. It'd be money lost if he didn't.. He hasn't yet and probably won't so I'll be stuck with a ton of "valuables".

maybe she meets a great guy, and decides to go another direction in life (maybe be a stay at home mom to 8 kids), and all things car related fade away. or she decides that she's rather have $$$, and not have to feed and care for all these old cars.

my Dad said, in his final weeks, that he could have hunted more. well, Dad, too late now. I doubt i'll hunt again, but I have all his gear.
One of the greatest advantages to have had parents that were pretty much broke when they died. I had little work to complete.

About 10 years ago I went to San Diego to help clear out my maternal grandparents house.
They lived through the depression, and they saved everything...because they may need it.

After that, my mom said she wasn't putting us through that, so she started thinning out her stuff. My step-dad, on the other hand, he's always been a car hoarder.
He has more projects than time left on the planet.
He's finally started getting rid of some of his collection and I have been helping.
Hoping he will agree to sell the 36 & 40 soon.

The 70 Chevelle SS and 16 Z06 can stay.

Quantity isn't what defines a collection, Define the word collection and then determine if any of your cars fit. If only 1 does then it's the start of the collection you can add to.

I think true collections have some thought behind them. You search for a particular piece to add to your collection because it fills some gap or even theme. The hunt is the exciting part.

Buying a bunch of shit just to increase your count isn't a collection. Even expensive shit.

On Aug 12 my 89 year old mother passed suddenly (dad died 9 years ago). She had been living in the same house for 63 years.
My sibs and I have been cleaning out the house. It was full of “Stuff” aka mostly junk. What is sad is that she had put little tags on items and wrote up lists of what she wanted each of us to have. There was almost nothing any of us wanted. There were a couple of furniture pieces I would have taken if I had the room but our house has no more room. Charities are getting tons of stuff.

In the art world, the pieces from the same artist is considered a collection. Craig, you have a collection of Corvettes.

For those of you who have 3 or more hoopties, you don't have a collection.
