Very nice. I assume after fusing the quarters together, you pound the stack flat? How big of a diameter do you end up with?

Yep, I snatch them outta the furnace and use a 28 ton press to fuse them together. Shown in the pics is about $20 in quarters $3-4 worth = about 2 in dia. I restacked $8 worth and the dia. is over 3 in. All are less than 1/16 thick.

I had some snarky jerk at a show lose to my challenge of:

"Sir,......it's only illegal to deface American currency if you're increasing the face value. I'm reducing this to base metals.

Since roofing shingles are now unaffordable, I'm going to melt down a bunch of pennies, flat roll them, and make a zinc alloy roof that might have a copper tint to it! Cheaper than asphalt shingles, yo!

Seems like there would be pretty good demand making those and a good business for someone wanting to be self employed?

I’ve seen them done with Morgan dollars and large cents as well, so not as costly as gold.
