I seen this some years ago, and still have that useless 3' piece of 1/2" copper water pipe around, and the little burglar alarm contact magnet which is about 3/16 dia and a inch long.....same demo.....

that coil spring with the magnets is neat.....

That is an example of Lenz's Law. I used it when teaching physics years ago. His smaller magnet would have worked nicely if he had used a smaller diameter pipe. I usually used a cow magnet. I remember back in the 70's when people were taping them on to their car's gas lines thinking that they would get better gas mileage. I even saw an article in Time magazine on it. People will believe anything!!! I should have had some stock in a cow magnet company back then. Naturally it didn't work and you don't here anything about it anymore.

COW magnet?? sounds like BULL to me......never heard the term.....

Google "cow magnet" and you will see what I am talking about. Farmers use them to help prevent Hardware disease in cattle. And yes, they are used on the "Bull" too! A very common item here in South Dakota but probably not so common in Florida. I would have thought that a "Latin American Goat Roper" might have heard of it.
