The the LS1 ever get the LS6 pcv system from the factory?
I noticed my car has the normal LS1 PCV setup that draws crank pressure from the valve covers vs. the LS6 setup that draws from the valley cover. I could have sworn I read that 2003 and 2004 C5s all got the LS6 PCV setup... guess that's wrong.
Anyone know when/if C5 LS1s got the LS6 setup?

I don't believe the valley cover PCV was ever used on LS1s.
The LS6 valley cover isn't expensive, but IMO the only real benefit in converting it is if you wanted custom valve covers w/o the breather ports. (at least that's why I was going to convert to it). I'm not convinced the "fixed orifice" LS6 PCV system is any better or more effective than the LS1 style. Both systems tend to reverse flow at WOT. (that is, the TB to right valve cover "inlet" line also becomes an outlet under those conditions - the reason many run two catch cans). |

Yeah in all my years on track I never ever had an issue w/ that line... no oil in the intake ever. I did have a catch can in the regular PCV line though.
Not going to bother with a catch can on a non-tracked car. In fact I'm going to have two very nice elite engineering cans for sale soon. One in aluminum and one black. |
