My flat tire is becoming a pain in the butt!!!
Last year, when I replaced my tires on my '98, I took the cheaper route and didn't go with the runflats. Now I have a flat, which I think is due to a hairline split in my rim.
What's the best way to take care of this? I probably need a new rim, but there's not enough clearance to get a jack under my car to take the tire off. I guess I could spring for a ramp and a new jack, but there has to be a better way. Any suggestions???? BTW...I was laid off a few months ago, so please keep costs in mind. Thanks!!! |

Check the rubber gasket for the TPMS sensor. Lotsa times they pinch those when they install them, and they leak.
Drive the car onto a couple pieces of 2x4 to get clearance to get a jack under it.

What wheels are you sporting? When you do get it off, maybe spray it down with soapy solution and find out what kind of leak you're dealing with.

I vote for a can of slime! Someone told me that stuff is TPMS safe... I don't really know if it is or not. I don't have TPMS's so that's what I would do or will do when it's my turn.
You could also make friends with your neighbor. You know.. the one with all the cool tools and the awesome low profile floor jack.
