Not much you can do ... he's a foreign entity drilling off the U.S. coast ...

... not like when the residents of Kennebunkport were beating on drums at night outside Bush's vacation house when Bush was vacationing after protesting during the day when Iraq was going down in flames ...

That's like asking Rove to either be an establisnment (R) or a Tea Bagger ...

About the only thing I take offense too ... is the right-wing cabal using *American People* as a punch-line ... if McConnell, Boner, Cantor & Pence and all the other fake Tea Bag congressional (R)'s were serious about us ... they would've voted to have the entire Stimulus meted out to the ones they ****ed .. the American People ... at least BP came through with a $20B package for the Gulf residents ... by the way, what's the status on that ?

Most of the post is political and I dont understand.
The US Govt appointed an administrator for the fund and BP has nothing to do with it other than suppling the money.

If I can address the stimulus.
It seemed to me that like Australia all that money was paid out in stimulus funds and you dont see anything for it. No Ports, Bridges, Roads or any infrastructure. In past recessions the Govt provided stimulus by building infrastructure.
What would your take be on that?????

It can be confirmed way back on CFPR&C that I was behind Obama nationalizing the banks as my recommendation ... the resident right-wingers didn't put up much of a fight on that ... so that's my only beef ... however we didn't know the extent of 0 oversight & regulation (see the Kochtopus) that in fact institutionalized the kind of criminal conduct that eventually was exposed ... that is, like Enron, the American People who as (in)vested partners lost everything ... a.k.a. as *hostages* ... sound familiar to this day ?

Same happened to GM's bondholders and those holding stock, oh it is better now with GM as there is new stock out there for you to buy and it will be backed by the taxpayers to keep the union in jobs

My preference is to stay away from CF. I go there to stay current or if someone tells me there is a post I should go look at. Lately that seems to have come from Iron Chef posting in OT here.
Criminal conduct is alive and well in all walks of life. Unfortunately.

As I have found out, Australian Unions are VERY different to American Unions.
In Australia we have the philosophy that if the business stays open and makes good money you have a job tomorrow. The trick is to stop the employers exploiting that. A Socialist Govt or Opposition does help a bit tho.

Depends ... would you rather hold stock in GM or a company vested in China or the 24,000 U.S. Companies located in a tiny building on a Bahama island ?

Just think if you were jewish, you could have been invited to invest with Madoff ...

I for one seldom go to the PR&C sections of the CF and this one has not as much activity so it works for me

From a Global stand point I dont like that GM is manufacturing all their small cars in Korea and exporting from there or that they lag Ford so badly.
The writing was on the wall for several years that Ford was going forward with their small car plan and GM sat back and watched. No reaction from the management at all till it was too late. GM do have better "signature" cars than Ford too.

I see ... lemme guess ... you play it safe and do your research as to which country benefits you the best by picking and choosing which Free Trade Agreement(s) benefits your portfolio ...

Unless of course you were on the Iraq War bandwagon when Cheney purchased GM SUV's at $250,000 a piece then pushed into burn pits so he can order more ... simply because the secretary's were to afraid to drive around Iraq in them ...
