Great question. The music we'll be playing is Post War Jump Blues from late 40's to early 50's. One would think this is geezer material but it actually appeals to ages 35-60.

It's the precursor to rock music.

Here is a prime example of the sound:


Vintage dance music. Requires actual musicianship.

Here's another example:


We target business people.

We call the persona: Mr. California Khaki Pants

age 30-60
income: $300K+
Pants: Khaki

Mr. Khaki Pants moved to Austin because they liked the idea of a music city or their job forced them here but he doesn't go out to shows.

Why? Because the music industry doesn't cater to Mr. California Khaki pants. Shows are too late, too loud and not music they like.

Our shows are early.
Our shows are volume controlled
Everybody likes swinging blues
The ticket is expensive $75 - drinks included
The venue is beautiful

Now this is the catch. You have to DELIVER a premium experience.

Another odd thing is that I have all the players already. I was expecting this to take months just to pull together the band. Uh oh.

And today we met a clothier who is interested in sponsoring and providing everyone super nice suits.

And a monthly show booked. Starting in August.

Holy shit.
