My refrigerator is ... hell, I can't describe it. It is somehow connected to my ex and/or her parents that have passed. I know it sounds absurd to read and I'm really struggling typing this because I am afraid I'll create some "red flag" here.

Occasionally when I open the refrigerator, the temperature goes nuts and the chime rings while the freezer temp randomly climbs. At first I joked that my MIL was haunting me, then it got strange. Last week was the anniversary of my divorce. The fridge was going nuts. Against my better judgement, I sent my ex a text telling her I was thinking about her and I hoped she was well. That was the 14th and it has not acted up since that day. It went nuts and she told me my FIL passed. It went nuts when she told me the dog we had (that was actually hers) had to be put down. It did it near her birthday, our anniversary, and a few times when I did not correlate it to anything in particular, but did not contact her to see if anything was going on. I laugh about it and my logical brain knows it is coincidence, BUT as far as coincidences go, it is still a bit freaky.

II. Back when I was a kid, my mom sold real estate and had a house for sale that I had never seen in my life. When I would walk in to strange places as a kid, I would get this odd "eye spin" that was disorienting and it was usually followed by a deja vu moment. In this instance, we were checking out the house and my mom headed for the basement. I stopped her because I felt it. I described, in detail, what was in the basement. Detail that no one could ever begin to guess. I described a cinder block wall with blocks missing. i told my parents, if you look in to the space opened by the missing blocks, it has no visible walls or bottom. Total black abyss with no depth. We went down the stairs, turned the corner and there it was...a hole in the cinder block wall. It scared the ever lovin' crap out of me and I knew I was not normal. My dad and I looked in the space and you could not define ANYTHING. No depth, no height, no width. Totally void of light and dimension. I immediately wanted to leave and I went upstairs very VERY scared. From that moment on, when a deja vu hits, I will PURPOSELY, go off track to mess it up. I'll stop, turn, sing, speak, read...do anything to change the moment because I don't know what the outcome is supposed to be and I don't think I want to. It happened far more often as a kid. Rarely as an adult.

Ok, it's out. yeah, I'm probably crazy...but maybe not.

David remarked that it was Lucas's favorite tune from the book. He picked it up and flipped it over to turn it off. He got a funny look on his face, held the book out, and said, "Look."
The switch was in the off position.
We figured it was Lucas, letting us know he was okay.
True story.

Damn, that gave me chills!!
