I have rode in helicopters a couple of times. Never felt comfortable in them. I have been more at ease in a sailplane (no engine) at 8000 feet

It was pretty foggy this morning. The marine layer had rolled in. I wonder if that played a part in it. If they needed to land quickly, they were not far from the freeway. Not ideal, but it would’ve been out of those mountains that were probably obscured by fog.

Kobe Bryant's helicopter circled 10 times above Los Angeles aerospace before it crashed killing all nine people onboard.

Radar shows how the aircraft hovered over the city of Glendale for 15 minutes before it eventually slammed into a mountainside in Calabasas, around 20 miles from downtown LA.

It was later reported that his daughter, Gianna, was also on board at the time of the crash.

Dispatch audio has been released in which the operator is heard directing emergency personnel to the crash scene.

Data provided by Flightradar24 showed that the S-76 helicopter took off from nearby Orange County and is believed to have been travelling to the city of Thousand Oaks.

Judging by the flight path taken, the chopper carrying Bryant circled at least 10 times over a period of 15 minutes before crashing.

It is believed they were on their way to basketball practice when the crash took place.

Initial reports suggest that conditions were foggy when the aircraft came down at around 10am local time.

The NBA star regularly used his Sikorsky S-76 helicopter to travel to and from matches at the LA Laker's Staples Center.

"It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of Kobe Bryant and four others in a helicopter crash in Calabasas. The aircraft went down in a remote field off Las Virgenes around 10:00 this morning. Nobody on the ground was hurt," the city of Calabas said on Twitter.

Hundreds of other people died today too. They weren’t multimillionaires from playing a game and their deaths didn’t make the news.

So a celebrity and his daughter died. Probably happens daily on freeways, murder/suicide, armed robberies, or whatever. Tragedies all. Kobe was a legend and an icon who was arguably better at this craft than anyone. He was loved and an inspiration to countless thousands, if not millions, and touched so many lives, mostly for the better. Seemed like a good guy from what I’ve heard though I know nothing about him as a person. Sure he had his transgressions, but haven’t we all. Was his death and his daughter’s more tragic than any other? Of course not, but the anonymous people who die every day did not leave their mark on the world like he did, even if it was just for entertaining the masses playing a game.

Some of the pure and sinless people that live in glass houses have spoken here. I don't condone or judge Kobe. But if you humpers here had some of the hottest women on earth on a daily basis wanting you of course you would resist every time. Most of the athletes, Musicians, and actors screw around when on the road. The difference between Kobe and the nameless is he affected millions of people all over the world. His death isn't anymore important than you. The only difference is a few gaf about your death and millions from all over the world care about his.
