Check the condenser outside, see if there's ice on the copper freon line. If so, that would indicate you're a little low on freon. You also might need to clean the condenser coils. I usually just take a garden hose and spray it, but they do sell a cleaner that you can spray on first, to take the gunk out from between the aluminum fins. Also, if you have vegetation around the units, that can decrease the efficiency.

I usually spray the coils every time I cut the grass. No ice on the tubing. Condensation yes, ice, no. The air coming off the unit is not as hot as the other. It may be the coils inside that are dirty. I have not disassembled it to check the coils. Airflow seems sufficient. It just doesn't like being turned below 74 for some reason.

We keep ours at 75 during AC season. If it's a little stuffy I'll just turn on a few ceiling fans and the house is very comfortable. At night it automatically drops to 72 for sleeping comfort. During heating season we keep it around 70 during the day and 65 at night.
