Default New family truckster...
Decided that it was time to upgrade the wife's DD from the 08 Yukon Denali that she's been driving.

'18 Escalade ESV Luxury with a few additional options (No, I didn't spring for the Platinum and the center console cooler). Not a great picture, but you get the idea.

I swore I would never buy another black vehicle... about 9 black vehicles ago.

Looks sharp congrats! I've heard good things about the 10 speed transmission over the 8spd in my Yukon.

I've only driven it a handful of miles but that thing shifts smoother than any vehicle I've ever been in and gas mileage seems to be pretty decent, all things considered. It's definitely a big change coming from the previous generation 6 speed.

I did work to get a 100k mile GM Warranty put on it and the transmission was a big part of that. First-year changes like that always scare the hell out of me and there's no way I want to be the one to pay the bill if/when that thing breaks.

... because who doesn't like looking at the dash and seeing that you are in 10th gear. 🤣

(Yea, I had to do the manual shift all the way to 10th just once, just because)

That would be a non starter. Part of the reason that we bought the house that we're currently in is the 30' deep garage. I've actually had 2 Yukons and the big dually in there at the same time.

Yea, no way I'm paying even close to MSRP on something that will lose close to $40k in a year. It's a used '18, although outside of a curbed wheel, you would never know it isn't brand new. I let someone else take that depreciation hit for me. Was actually a GM Exec vehicle originally so it got some of the nice options on it without the dirty clothes, kid, animal, and crap hauling destruction that most used SUVs have.

The search started for a '16+ Yukon Denali as a replacement. I ended up with almost exactly the same in the '18 Caddy as I would have had in a '16 Yukon Denali. The right deal presented itself so why not.
