Absolutely love it and it just hit 40k miles and has been rock solid except for a bad AC line.

I too did something similar. Dumped the C7 Z and grabbed an AMG GT which I absolutely love.

Congrats, I think many who wanted a C8Z already have abandoned the pursuit, and many will follow, as I believe less than 100 C8Zs were delivered to ACTUAL customers in 2022--I think we were told production would start in early summer 2022, and that was a big lie, or an incompetent management strategy.

I went on the list, am 690 at kerbeck, am thinking maybe 2026 at earliest-originally thought end of 2024, so I may bail, as never wanted an automatic, and can do a lot more with $150K than own a car--maybe a Viper.

Amazing that GM has not figured out how to make the cars that customers want,,,

Flame on, but that Porsche will outlast any Corvette driven mile for mile
I would have argued with you a few months ago, but now that my C7Z lost its water pump on a spirited highway run, I have to be more objective.

The water pump failure, along with a 'blue' crank, some head work and a bunch of performance and cooling mods, a triple-disc are $30+K.

Corvettes are not cheap to keep,,,

A lot of us are getting too old to wait 4+ years for a Z06, Zo6 or whatever it's called now.

I've always wondered just how much Viper DNA is in that car...

i have and may potentially still end up with one if they ever sort out production issues. time will tell. this is the only non vette toy for me since my 1986 trans am that i bought new, then traded for an 85 vette. its a weird feeling, not sure exactly how to describe it, but having come from a very modest background/upbringing. i feel like i shouldnt have such an expensive toy and that i dont deserve it.....the poor kid in me sees it as a bridge too far even though i can easily afford it.

It sure feels like you’re in a Viper as you sit so far back in the cabin. Two things it does very well is respond to mods and put the power down.

European cars seems to have very good traction control tuned into their cars..
Porsche 911s have engineering also to get them to go fast, faster and absurdly fast...Some 911 Turbo S are evil fast..

If I can get a first year Turbo 911, modern era, 2017?, and 4wd pdk, I would simply put a tune to it and enjoy it..
A friend had one, and it was a fun car to drive. It felt secure.

i was surprised by the torque the first time i got on my car, then enjoyed the turbos pulling up top. i thought it was going to have to be driven high in the rpm range to be any fun. i was way wrong. my ass dyno feels as if its significantly faster than the c8 even though its probably on par.

I bet its the traction, with all the weight over the tires, and Porsche knows their turbo tuning. If I remember correctly they have progressive boost controllers too.

Whatever it is, its a great experience. Almost addictive.
