Pete, I really think McCain would have won the election if it wasn't for the POS he had as a running mate....She made alot of voters either not vote, or vote Democrat....I have talked to many who have said they wouldn't vote for her, no matter what she did or said, they just plain don't trust her..McCain would win if he had a decent running mate, Im sure of it.......WW

OK...update.

I DROVE IT!!!!!

Picked it up from the shop today. It's not registered or insured, so I brought a trailer....but I couldn't resist running it up and down a country road a few times. Fires right up, nice steady idle, throaty exhaust, and very responsive. I didn't lay into it hard, but opened it up a bit. Let's just say I'm happy....

Then "the problem" hit right as I was getting ready to drive it up on the trailer. Sudden miss in the engine....and {uh oh...} tap tap tap tap tap.....

I knew it wasn't a bottom end knock....wasn't even a knock....just like a sequential backfire out of the intake. And that's exactly what it was. Pulling off plug wire #1 yielded a nice quiet motor. I drove it up on the trailer, brought it home, drove it into the garage and waited for it to cool off. I knew exactly what I was going to find before I found it.....



I bought these from Mustangs Unlimited....said "OEM Quality". Bullshit. I'm very unhappy, and they will hear about it. I'm going down to CarParts Machine and pick up a set of Comp Magnums and replace all 16 tomorrow.

But gents....it runs, steers, brakes, drives, and sounds fanstastic. Keeps a nice steady 50-60 psi of oil pressure, never gets over 195, and will get up and boogie. It was all worth it.

I'll cure the rocker ills and iron out some of the minor details, but it should be on the streets full time in a week or so. Funny side note....I'm coming down the 601 Freeway with the Mach 1 on a trailer...within 4 miles, 3 guys in Mustangs and one in a Ram 1500 pickup gave the thumbs up. This car gets massive attention....even on a trailer and in ratty condition.

From the picture, Friz, that thing LOOKS forged but maybe you can tell if it's just cast? Either way, I doubt it's had any heat treating let alone proper heat treating... Too bad, but no damage and it will feel good replacing them!

I've never seen a stock rocker break before. I've seen then well worn from mis installation, or damaged on the end, but I didn't think stamped steel parts would fracture.

looks like some cheap imported garbage (it is obviously cast as well).
