Removed the rest of the tree that fell. Stump had to be 5' wide and weighed north of 1500lbs. My tractor wouldn't lift it so I rolled it to the pile with the tractor.

The tree was so wide at the base I had to make two cuts with a 20" bar.

Wife didn't like some of the things that I did, so I had to re-do some shit I re-did again, again. Some of the re-re-do knocked a few stairs out of level, so I need to re-level them again before I will sign my name to them. The leveling should take an afternoon at most, but I can't seem to stop working on other people's taxes long enough to find an afternoon to do it! I was hoping that would finally happen this week, as I don't yet have the paperwork to re-do my son's taxes, but then a hurricane hit.

Sometimes I wonder how I had the time to work a full-time job.

None of the wood was rotten just put together shitty. Six heffers could have danced on it when I was done. The neighbors just tore a pool deck down, professional job and it about fell apart, suprised it didn't fall down.
Bubba’d.

Same thing only much smaller scale with wiring the fan. Previous owners added track lighting and added a switch to make a double gang. Except they cut the box and chipped away at the stud and screwed the switch into it. Easily fixable when we paint.

Stacked switch. Didn’t know that was a thing.

I admit to suckage. This was my first foray into the world of stair building, and I admit, that the underlying structure (that I didn't change) being HUGELY out of square is something that I neither anticipated, nor tested for. Lesson learned I suppose. Ya gotta learn somehow.

The story of my deck is longer and more boring than I care to type, and I'm sure no-one wants to read. But yes, the stairs I tore down were the second set of stairs out there, since the first ones sucked so bad I paid a guy to replace them, and he ****ed them up even more. When I went to "fix up" my deck, the first thing I realized was that the original guys used drywall screws to hold the flooring down, as well as holding the railing together. I would later find that the footings were not done properly, and the 6x6s holding up the main truss had all rotted, and needed to be replace with the old footings dug out and new footings poured.

I could go on, but at this point I feel it is obvious: If I knew then what I know now, I would have paid to have a professional knock down the entire deck and build a new one.

*surprised

I tend to overbuild things. I don't want to do it again.
