I don't see where it isn't. It is no different from choosing to run Linux on your laptop rather than Windows or OSx.

I recently bought a new router for home and wiped it out and installed DD-WRT on there since it is a much better control panel and allows better control of inbound and outbound traffic to my home network. I now can get in to my home SAN from anywhere in the world and have that limited by specific mac addresses and incoming port.

Yes, it's legal. Even the movie addons like Genesis, 1channel, Icefilms, etc.

WATCHING a pirated movie is not illegal....Those who copy, download, store,and host pirated movies are the ones breaking the law.

I use Kodi quite a bit, but there is a learning curve to it, installing repositories and addon managers, and a fair amount of tweaks to get it to work well. Nothing terribly difficult, but you'll do a lot of googling and instruction-following to get the good addons installed.

You'll also probably find it doesn't work too well during the "prime time" evening hours, which I suspect is server load issues. Late night, early morning it seems to work much better.

Kodi is my HTPC. So far over 2TB of movies, music and TV series. Have a 3TB drive going in next. After that I am building a NAS for redundancy and backup capability. The software is in no way an infringement on ANY piracy laws.

ok, been talking with some of the guys here at the office and they have all suggested I check out Plex. Much more user friendly interface and easier to code.

You might compare the two to see what you like. I am going to read more about Plex this evening to see what it looks like.

yeah, the guy that turned me on to it said thats how he bought his. dude charged him 50 bucks to configure it. we did it by following instructions on a 10 minute youtube video. worked as advertised.

I remember now.. not long ago I was wanting to watch some shows and a new member here showed me this with lots of directions on how to use it..

While I think it would be great for people with a good internet connection, it did not work out well for me with my slow net.

Also with another site with many movies, even if they would not load and play well, I could slowly download them with a mozilla add on and watch them later
