'Deadliest Catch' deckhand found dead
More bad news for the men of Discovery Channel's "The Deadliest Catch."
Today The Clicker - 'Deadliest Catch' deckhand found dead Law enforcement officials in Homer, Alaska, told gossip site TMZ.com that they received a call shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday reporting a deceased male at a Best Western hotel. When police arrived, they found Justin Tennison unresponsive on the bed. Tennison, 34, was a deckhand on the Time Bandit. He is survived by his two children, sister, father and grandparents. Police told TMZ that when they searched the room, they discovered some marijuana and alcohol in the refrigerator, though it's not known if the items played any role in his death. An autopsy is scheduled for today. The cable network told The Clicker in a statement, "Discovery Channel is saddened by the passing of Time Bandit crew member Justin Tennison. We send our sympathies to his entire family and fellow crew members during this most difficult time." The crew of the vessel also made a post in memory of Tennison on the fan site they administer, Timebandit.tv: "Justin was tough as a bull and was an all-around good hand. The Captains and Crew appreciated his hard work and many contributions this past year. We will miss him terribly and wish his family all the best during this most difficult time." In November, "Deadliest Catch" vessel Cornelia Marie was searched for drugs after Captain Derek Ray told police that deckhand Jake Harris was abusing prescription meds while at sea. Harris is the son of Captain Phil Harris, who passed away at age 53 after suffering a stroke a year ago. The show returns for season seven in April. Justin Tennison, second from right, is pictured with the crew of the Time Bandit. They are, from left, Scott Hillstrand, Eddie Uwekoolani Jr., Neal Hillstrand, Mike Fourtner, Andy Hillstrand, Johnathan Hillstrand, Eddie Uwekoolani and Travis Lofland. |

I doubt some weed and alcohol caused his death. Unless he got drunk and high and talked shit to the wrong people.

It might have been a heart attack, I grew up with a kid whose Dad died at 32 of a heart attack. It happens to young people and he might have been doing some blow, that'll do it if you have a weak heart.

Time Bandit Capt. Andy Hillstrand wrote on Facebook:
Justin fished commercially for many years, living in Alaska for 28 years. He worked on the Time Bandit, alongside his second cousin, Eddie Uwekoolani, Jr., serving as Engineer during the tendering seasons, and joined the Time Bandit crew as a deckhand fishing the Red King 2010 and Opilio 2011 seasons. Justin was tough as a bull and was an all-around good hand. The Captains and Crew appreciated his hard work and many contributions this past year. We will miss him terribly and wish his family all the best during this most difficult time. Justin Tennison |

When you work like that, it's better to burn out than fade away. RIP young man, you earned your wings. PS, tell God I like bud lite on tap.
