Obviously some people use their real names and I’m Louie from metro Detroit. But what about other peeps here? Is there a member here who actually flung a rat? Please explain.

Saw a dozen or so of them in a dipsty dumpster at work after we threw away a bunch of leftover hot dogs but besides that only saw the human kind skulking around.

Mine was from an old personalized license plate, OH-YAA. Had it for 30 years or so. Nevada would not let me transfer it because of the dash for my next truck.

Combination of an old computer username and my call number when I was a dispatcher for the Georgia Tech police department as a student.

Mine was an inside joke with Red (redslt1GTO). At the time I was into C3's and C4's and had an ongoing joke with Red that C5's felt like driving a Taurus. When I found out he was a mod here and a bunch of us came over in 2011, it seemed like a good way to keep the gag going.

I'm a distant relative to Yad.

The real story, about 30 years ago I moved my young family from shitty New York State to about as close to Mayberry RFD (Mt. Airy, NC) as I could get and still live near a decent sized city. We settled near the Yadkin River and I researched the name. The official Yadkin County line is that they don't really know.

I'm also a fan of the 1964-1970 Daniel Boone television series. The real D. Boone's parents settled in the Yadkin Valley. Boone used routes along the Yadkin River to explore territory further west. The headwaters of the river are off what is now the Blue Ridge Parkway.

In the series, Boone has a trusted friend named Yadkin, played by Albert Salmi. The writers obviously took the name from the region. So I borrowed it from them.

Just used the same name here that I had over at the other place where they like locking threads.

I guess it doesn't make sense here

Nickname given to me by my wise ass boss (chef) when I was a kid working at a ski mountain restaurant.

I was skinny, young with big feet. I worked there all through high school. As much as he fkd with me, he knew I was reliable, even in the off season

A friend of mine, Jed Noll's father was in a few of those surf classics. He was know as Da Bull back in the day and was a pioneer of big wave surfing and surfboard shaping. Those guys from that generation had courage more than most, considering.
