Great points, but 180 degrees off in my opinion.

Voter enthusiasm is always a driving force in presidential elections. Voters for Trump will never think he has it good enough that every vote doesn't matter. On the democrat side, if Biden makes it long enough to the election there won't be enthusiasm to get out and vote for a literal zombie.

My personal experience: In 1992 I would never vote for Bill Clinton, he struck me as a skanky skilled politician and ***** hound. On the flip side, Daddy Bush was a shitty-ass president who went against his word and raised taxes. I didn't like his going back on his word but what really pissed me off was he was too ****ing stupid to see the democrats were setting him up with that shitty tax bill. They knew it wouldn't raise revenue and they didn't expect it to. They knew it would make Daddy Bushie look stupid and that was the whole point of it. It decimated the boat building business with the "luxury tax" on yachts. Many boat builders went out of business because of it.

My mother asked me if I voted on the day of the election in 1992. I said no and she said I would regret it. Well, frankly, I didn't. Bill Clinton was sleezy, but he wasn't as stupid as Daddy Bush. And without him Newt Gingrich would not have had his "contract with America".

He already said in his Town Hall he would stop the Ukranian war in 24 hours, you could hear a pin drop, because people know he would do it. That alone is almost enough to secure my vote...

I was a Director at the US Patent Office and 1/2 my employees were union (POPA) Patent Office Professional Association, a Federal Labor Union, and 1/2 were not. Most were GS-13s and up to Gs-15s, split evenly. Most of the difference were administrative issues, like different annual evaluation forms and award disbursement. Nothing prevented me from disciplining or terminating either class of employees if the wrong doing was egregious enough, if the different procedures were followed.

Anyway the career employees follow what the Senior Execs set as the agency "tone" and most of the "Plum Book" political appointees drive that train.

He has said he would end the war in 24 hours but hasn't given any details on how he would do that other than meeting with both sides.

However, he must not be that confident in his 24 hour timeline because he also says he’ll give more weapons to Zelensky if Putin doesn’t agree to a peace deal.
