Marshall Loses Endorsement

A credit union that serves military families has “ended its partnership” with Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall after he knelt during the playing of the national anthem at Thursday night’s season-opening game.

The Air Academy Federal Credit Union has announced it no longer wishes to have Marshall as one of its ambassadors.

“Although we have enjoyed Brandon Marshall as our spokesperson over the past five months, Air Academy Federal Credit Union (AAFCU) has ended our partnership,” president and CEO Glenn Strebe wrote Friday in a statement on the company’s Facebook page. “AAFCU is a membership-based organization who has proudly served the military community for over 60 years. While we respect Brandon’s right of expression, his actions are not a representation of our organization and membership. We wish Brandon well on his future endeavors.”

It always depends on the demographic audience of the product. If they are endorsing the NRA, you get fired. If you are endorsing NIKE or FUBU, you get a raise.

Nothing pissed me off more than knowing they were not permitted to wear, and would be FINED for wearing, 9/11 cleats, yet they can pull this political BS and the NFL looks away. I give credit, and will become a potential customer for any sponsor that dumps these clowns.

If they wanted to make a real statement it seems they could all get together and donate a portion of their multi million salaries to a foundation which might actually HELP those beleaguered souls they protest for. Perhaps they might volunteer some time to mentor those in need, or fund a legal defense team for those they feel were wronged, or you know; actually DO SOMETHING CONCRETE AND MEANINGFUL in those communities which need help.
