Dallas Visit Last Month
My wife had a business trip to the D/FW area last month and since that was where we met and where I went to college (UNT in Denton), I jumped at the chance to go.
On the drive (yeah we drove from Alabama), we took a rock into the windshield in Shreveport in her new car. Ooops. Thankful for insurance. First impressions: MAN, traffic has gotten worse and people drive insanely fast in those left lanes! LOL Guess I'm just getting older. Hit up a Rangers game since they were playing the Angels that week - I'm an Albert Pujols fan since I'm a Cardinal fan. I didn't make many friends that night, but I did get to see him hit another of his home runs over the left field wall. 6 Flags wasn't open during the week yet, but it was looking a bit tired. Still missed not being able to go. Then I went to the G.W. Bush library on the SMU campus. I'd never visited a Presidential library before, and I must say this one was really nice. Full reproduction of the Oval Office from his time there. Lots of 9/11 stuff there including a piece of the WTC. That section was hard to go through, but essential to understand those years. Several kids just kinda wandered through. The older folks though, understood and remembered. Several benches for people to sit and computers to leave memories of that day. Very sobering. Went Tesla shopping at the mall near SMU - that was interesting and I'm impressed with where that tech is going. Even stopped by Williams Square in Las Colinas to check out where I used to work. Other than that, we drove out to Trophy Club one evening to see the old house. Drove right past the neighborhood as Hwy 114 has totally changed between Grapevine and Roanoke. Holy COW!!!!! Not sure I could live there in the D/FW area again, but I'd LOVE to be back in Texas at some point. |

A few I found on the phone. One pic is of my wife and daughter at a restaurant in Nashville before an Avenged Sevenfold concert. Other pic is of my wife and my parents a couple of years ago.
My mom passed away a few weeks after our Dallas trip after 3 years battling cancer. |

I was there last fall and hit up a cowboys game, that stadium is impressive (took a tour during the week) and you’re right traffic was insane!

The Cowboys home was definitely nice and over the top. But it isn't a surprise.
Hate that they're doing away with the current ballpark for the Rangers. that was where my wife ever saw a professional baseball game back in 1995. Lots of highway construction, but it is SO needed apparently!!! |
