Default We did an "Aero" today...

This morning, the wife started complaining about no sound coming from the TV. Futzed with the settings, and no sound. Thinking that it was odd that the speakers may have shit the bed, wife wanted to get a new TV.

Hold the phone! If the speakers don't work, let's just get a sound bar for a third of the price of a TV. So we went to Target and picked up a $70 sound bar.

Get back to the house, hook it up, and no sound. WTF? Sound bar was working, but no sound from the TV. ****. Alright, lets go get a new TV.

Went to Sammy's World and picked up a Vizio V series for $220. Unpacked it, installed the feet, plugged it in and turned it on. After 15 minutes of it upgrading it self to the current software, I set up the Netflix and Prime Video accounts. Get sound on both. Set the input to the TV box and no sound. WTF. Switched to Netflix and there's sound. Switched to Prime and there's sound. Switched back to TV box and no sound. ****.

Unplug TV box power cable and plugged back in. When the TV box came back on, we got sound. ****. Spent $300 for nothing.

FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU

tl;dr: STFU Porter.

Dude, sorry, but you sound like my mom when she would call me. A/V is easy compared to what you do in real life. Just call a friend

I've never done anything like that with an above the stove microwave and a hidden GFCI outlet.

The 4k picture rocks. The sad news, maybe, is that I now need to find a home for the 3D TV, which is the one that "lost sound".

Pro tip:

Always You Tube any issue prior to throwing in the towel.
It has worked for me numerous times.
Hell, I you Tube anything that I want to fix now, even if I know how to do it. One time or money saving tip makes it worth it,

Garage tv.

I threw away the microwave and it happened to be trash day the next morning.
By the time I installed the new one the next night, it was gone.

when I have an issue like that I always go to some alternate input source and see if I have volume from there. And yes I've had the exact same thing happen with our cable box dropping the audio for some reason. Cycling the power always seems to fix it.

But!!! Your situation gives me a reason to explain to the wife that the TV speakers are caput and we need a new 80" tv.

I still have my Panasonic plasma tv. I've already replaced the power board once, and I'm dreading the day I will ultimately have to replace the tv. Can't get plasma anymore

likewise. it's about 12 years old, still works fine. when it dies, a new 60" LCD will replace the 50" (with wide bezels) beast.

Panny plasmas were the bomb in the day. On the other hand, they use about 1.21 jigawatts and can heat your entire home
