Cable actuated or hydraulic? Could be pads or fluid. I haven't noticed a problem with mine in the cold.

Fat bikes are a blast in the snow.

Sounds like a mineral oil system. Not a lot you can do since it's probably the seals causing it more than the fluid. You can change to a DOT system, Magura or cable actuated. I was running SRAM Avid BB7 S cable actuated with Paul Love levers which I really liked, but the calipers would foul with sand/salt from beach riding. Never had an issue with them otherwise.

I have a question to those who ride. How do you feel about riding with oncoming cars and trucks coming from behind you as opposed to coming towards you. It is a law in Florida that you must ride that way. If I were riding in a bike lane with traffic coming behind me, I would be very uncomfortable. I would like to be able to see any vehicles going into the bike lane.

Good mirror is all you need then.
I've been forced off the road several times by asshole drivers, the last was some lady in a beige pickup would have killed us all if hadn't went offroad. I'd stab the bitch in eye if could find her as it ruined me.
Friend laid in ditch for hrs after being smoked by a car. Nothing broken but bad concussion and a shit ton of bruises. I don't ride on busy roads nor during busy times.

Mirror not enough for me. I want it to be in view of what I see most of the time, what's in front of me, coming my way. I have had Helmer mirrors that work well.

I always ride in the bike lane facing traffic, would have been killed by a police truck a week ago had my back been to him.

I ride my bike along the board walk which has lanes for people and bikes, no cars. I can go 15 miles either way. And see some of the hottest women in their bikini's playing volley ball and other things. You ride your bikes on busy streets with your helmets and little biking jerseys. Fk that.
