4-5 daze of this media hype/anal-isis over this crap, I have to day it's too bad , but shit happens....and so a day worth of coverage is fine....

I liked the guy, thought he was funny, brought laughter to a lot of people. I'm tired of hearing it too. Selfish...he should of thought about the hurt on his loved ones.

It's not them, it's us. Fox and CNN both saw massive ratings jumps as a result of the Robin Williams news and people haven't turned away yet. Fox saw viewer numbers rise 80% over their typical averages. That means ad buys, and ad buys mean more coverage.

I have seen it posted elsewhere, but I also think this is more of an auto erotic event - went wrong.
IIRC he had talked about cutting his wrists several times before and had done that many years ago. Has there been a note reported/discovered? (I havent heard of one.)

I blame the internet . A small event can be news. It can start on TV and print media. Someone on the internet repeats the story and adds to it. Then it snowballs out of proportion compared ot its actual importance and goes on for days.. I'd go crazy without the net but sometimes I hate it.

Suicide is definitely a selfish act, but that said, some people, no matter their status in life can't deal with it and feel like it is the only way to end the pain. I am a fan of his, and he gave a great deal of himself to American Troops in war zones. I respect that. The media has over hyped it, but it is still sad to lose that kind of talent, and for his wife and kids, a husband and father. Personally, I think the media needs to sort of drop it for now and quit analyzing shit they know nothing about. Let the family and friends grieve, and lets get on with it.
