He dosen't have the constitutional authority to selectively exempt his chosen few from "settled federal law" either. Your point?

Here's the thing. You still ignore the fact that lowering taxes helps, but instead push for higher taxes. Liberals will let no opportunity to levy a tax go to waste.

It's kind of hard to create jobs when it's better to live on Welfare in 30+ states than work at an entry level postion.

Secondly Income and wealth inequity went down from the heart of the Great depression to around 1965. Once we started paying people to drop out of the economy and become Dem voters the inequity rate rose. Along with Crime rate , single mother households and Drug usage.

Funny, we just announced an expansion that will create 203 jobs in Knoxville. Guess I was imagining things.

You must be poor white trash then, since we all now know that the rich don't create jobs.

I think what we are supposed to learn from this thread is that poor people create jobs. Got it.

And MOST IMPORTANTLY - long term capital gains taxes were raised under Reagan from 20% to 28%. Today its back to 20% having just been raised from 15%.

And in 1987 when the new income tax rates came into effect, he compensated by raising tax rates on corporations.

And finally, what all of you conservatives ALWAYS fail to remember is that the Reagan tax cuts helped TRIPPLED the national debt under his presidency.
So, Obama doesn't have the constitutional authority to raise taxes, yet Reagan did?

Only when it's convenient to claim that, it seems.

When Obama became president in January 2009, the total federal debt stood at $10.6 trillion. This week, it hit $16.7 trillion — an increase of 57 percent. In the same time frame under President George W. Bush, total federal debt rose 38 percent. The second largest contributor (behink FDR) to the debt dollar-wise is President Obama. He added $4.8 trillion, a 41% increase, in just one term.

And Obama still has another 3 years and the cost of Obamacare to contend with.

AFTER which, the nation must nationalize ALL the GOLD bullion within our shores, repudiate the debt, issue new currency backed by such gold.....and tell the bankers/world to go to hell.....

simple, really.....the common folks get some settlement on accounts, nearly equal to what they 'had'.....

cool.....EFF the bankers.....

Ya fkr's! Take that!
And don't forget... Big brother stepped up his game big time in the Reagan era, and got bigger in the Bush's eras. How did that help the US from the Al-Queda attack that crippled our economy, along with the housing bubble?
It didn't do shit!
They sure have us under a microscope though.
How's that working out for everyone?

If the article had related a story about how Joe Blow had cashed in his food stamp card to hire Suzie Smith and start a new business, then maybe we'd have something to talk about.
I really shouldn't be surprised...

But I still have a hard time believing when someone tries to argue that private business is bad and more government and higher taxes are good.

Wow, you are agreeing with that? It's all wrong. Almost every single word is wrong, and I suspect most of the punctuation is also.

You're such a NY democrat. You just don't want to admit it.

Anyway, taking tax rates down from a top rate of 70% to 28% is a helluva achievement. All with a democrat house and senate. But the top rate doesn't mean shit to what a normal person pays in taxes, and Reagan's tax cuts made a huge difference in that area, which was the whole point and is why he was so popular with regular people who didn't suck at the government tit.
