As someone who knows the Philippines pretty well, I have to say Maher must be really, really bad off.

Any school that teaches the earth is only 5000 years old falls into the same catagory.

When you teach faith above science, you are no longer a school.

At last check, each of those listed was in the top 100 Universities in America. But hey, Bill Maher says they are not "real" schols...

Bill Maher is a bigoted, sexist idiot. The people who are stupid enough to take political advice from him... well...

Ahhhhh..... so the countless liberal universities out there that push the liberal faith and ideals above facts, numbers, science, and reality are not actually schools?

That is a lie.

He specifically said Bob Jones, Liberty and Oral Roberts.

I have no problem with religious schools that teach facts. I am quite sure most if not all of the schools you mention, have real teachers that teach evolution, history and anthropology based on science.

Religion courses are mandatory at every Catholic school I have ever seen as well as BYU and other religious institutions which leaves zero doubt that they teach FAITH.

Your previous comment was not ambiguous:

They clearly teach and are based on FAITH, are they not?

Either way, it doesn't at all change the fact that Maher is nothing more than an asshole bigot and anybody who would actually look to him for views and opinions is no better.

They have classes on Theology, but all Catholic schools teach evolution.

Notre Dame even celebrates his birthday - Notre Dame to mark Darwin's birthday, anniversary of his book on theory of evolution // News // Notre Dame News // University of Notre Dame

As I said before, I have no problem with any school that teaches facts.

BYU also teaches evolution - BYU NewsNet - Science professors don't view evolution as an 'either-or' proposition

Now contrast that with Liberty. They teach how to debunk evolution.

Now I want to ask you a question. Since Bob Jones, Liberty and Oral Roberts teach that creationism as fact, which you are smart enough to know is bullshit, do you think its right that you can get an accredited degree when what you have been taught is a lie?

MY position takes all this outta the discussion,

It's really simple......colleges teach HARD science, engineering, Math, Business, Finance, Accounting.....

ALL the liberal 'arts' crap is no longer taught, you want a degree in 'art' you go study on your own, the taxpayers are no longer supporting that crap....

I woke up to reality in '1963 when my Englush prof stood there in second semester...and said, first day......'how many of you want to major in Englush? and so lots of the class raised their hands....he stood there and said, 'Take my advice, DONT, all you can do with an Englush degree is teach, and who wants to do that??@Q!!!......

All you can do with ANY of that liberal 'arts' crap is teach it to another generation of stupid kids too lazy to learn anything useful.....

Do I think you should be able to get a degree in that aspect specifically? No. I also don't think that a vast number of the other bullshit, liberal arts, basket weaving, occupy the couch degrees should be accredited.

Please be specific, what degrees are you referring to that are a lie? Are you saying that a nursing degree from Liberty is bullshit? An English degree? Mathematics?

Liberty et al offer many degrees in various academic areas that are every bit as legitimate as those from any other school in the country so to say they aren't "real schools" is flat out ignorant... exactly as would be expected.

I graduated from one of the most respected engineering programs on the planet. I had multiple classes with teachers spewing complete bullshit liberal fundamentalist garbage that was every bit as much of a lie as what Liberty is teaching. I'm going out on a limb in saying that is pretty standard in most universities in the US. Of course like any good liberal, they teach their idiot opinins as facts, despite the fact that science, math, and pretty much all empirical data says otherwise. Do you have a problem with people getting degrees when these LIES are constantly thrown at them or do you only have a problem when it is something that you don't agree with?

A private university can teach that George Carlin was the second coming of Christ, for all I care. Enrollment is voluntary.

Well, I wouldn't call them "private".

They get government money to push their bullshit. Liberty alone got almost HALF A BILLION DOLLARS from the federal government last year. Thats more than any other college in VA.

Evangelical Liberty University received half a billion dollars in federal aid money - Education - Salon.com

Liberty tops state in federal aid for its students | The News & Advance

My favorite quote from that article - "Still, a small number of Liberty students choose to opt out of federal financial aid programs due to their conservative values, Ritz said.

“We have students every year that don’t want to use federal funds,” Ritz said. “We honor that.”

Yea, they honor that all the way to the bank.

You very clearly said:

The vast majority of Liberty's programs are indeed fact based. When you take into account the number of electives, etc that universities offer, it is safe to say that the Liberty programs have every bit as much degree specific, fact based information as any other school out there.

Let me help you out with a small list of what they offer:
  • Nursing
  • Mathematics
  • English
  • Business
  • Aeronautics
  • Arts
  • Law
  • Engineering
  • Computational Sciences

...and plenty more.

It is a very simple question. Which of the degrees offered by Liberty are LIES as you claim?
