Was slavery the primary issue of the civil war or was it states rights?

I challenge any of you who object to that to cite the specific "states right" OTHER than slavery that was in question.

It was not about slavery as you like to suggest. The slavery issue was one part of it. But anyone who thinks the war was fought totally over slavery is an idiot, uneducated, or a liar.

Lincoln himself wanted to box them up and send them back to their homeland and most likely would have if he wasn't killed.

The north did not want the blacks coming to the north. The north's support for the war was to keep the union together and if the south hadn't attack Ft Sumter first, and succeeded there would have been a totally different solution offered.

But I suppose if you wish to believe your dem party wanted to keep slaves, you may have a point as they sure keep them enslaved now.
