I don't know what you're trying to say with that, but my point is that the voters of this state put these people in the position to make laws such as these. It's up to the voters to remove them.

Satire - (edumacation) education of the voters on the matters that those in Austin end up dictating would seem to go a long ways to elimination of the issue we are faced with here in TX.

Oh, I agree that the voters are the main issue - reelecting those that have proved fiscally irresponsible is not caused through any other manner.

I continually ask why they continue to 'stay the course' with those that have failed them.

As in the last election (state- wide) the answer was normally 'my vote was against .....'.

In this state there are those potential candidates that are not the 'choose between the lesser of two evils' - however I have not seen the education of the public on those candidates occur to the degree necessary - allowing the insurance of their election versus the 'same old same old'.

Ah...got the satire part now.

I think...in order to make an informed choice...you have to have things like quantitative reasoning and logic. Qualities that many Bubbas in our state seem to lack.

and this is why there needs to be a qualifier to vote beyond the fogged mirror.

incorrect

having qualified & informed voters will deliver us the best possible leadership.

folks voting for a candidate because they think he/she is cool...or voting based on sound bites, 30 second political ads on TV & bumper stickers...doesn't.

Like I said ... wishing you luck.

At least the Conservatives are up front with what they want and expect.

I have to respect that.

so, you would be 100% against a qualifier for the purpose of electing leadership?

Yes, I’m 100% against it.

It wasn’t a problem more than 200 years ago, and we’re far more knowledge now than then, so why is it a problem today.

We didn't have any problem picking leader then and we'll have no problem picking leaders now.

you are really clueless.

200 years ago there WERE qualifiers to vote.

how can you not know this?

this ^^^ makes my point.

the reason we had no problem then...

votes were not bought with the promise of entitlement hand outs.

today, many vote for whoever will give them something...not who is the best leader for the time.

LARGE SUMS of CASH to POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS ... Thanks to the Supreme Court

Who knows, maybe if Conservatives win back the White House … we go back to the Good Old Days.

I'm actually embarrassed for you Chas, to not know history and that there used to be qualifiers for Americans to vote.

you really need to educate yourself.

And yes, it would be awesome for traditional conservatives to get back into controll of governing this country. maybe, then we could expect from our leaders what is mandated by the constitution...and nothing more or less.

Are you really that clueless to make such a blanket statement in capital letters above?

Help a poor old country boy out - did your education occur? to what level? in what discipline?

Look … bottom line, I’m against every attempt the Conservatives are using to swing Voting in their favor … period.

Call it what you want, label it whatever you want … I’m against it.

Look …. In my opinion, the Conservatives are slowing being outnumbered by the people they have excluded for years, decades and centuries. Even if they use IQ Test, this will only work for so long. The World had changed those that adapt live on; always has been, always will. My Grandfather always said, be careful how you treat the people on the way up, because you will meet them on your way down, and t will be too late to make friends.

yet this post does not address the issue of voter qualifications...

or you lack of knowledge of history.

you will not man up and admit you are without credibility on this, as you have embarrassed yourself with ignorance on the issue.

so you instead turn to bash the political party you oppose, which has zero relevance to the issue of voter qualifications.

By Conservatives I am assuming you mean Republicans.

The people that were "...excluded for years, decades and centuries..." - would those by any chance be of color?

Presuming the forgoing is correct you are aware that the Democrats enacted and supported slavery continuation? that the Democrats enacted and enforced the 'Jim Crow' laws? that the Democrats fought against civil rights initially? that the Democrats were against the Union taking up arms against the South in the Civil War?

In fact - in all the above it was the Republican Party that was the champion of the 'oppressed and excluded'.

Just checking.
