Wife and I visited the store again this afternoon, and bought a Ca. king flippable/turnable innerspring with box springs and it has maybe 1/2 inch or so of 'pillow top' thickness to each side.....seems a bit more comfy than the plain jane innerspring.....

I also have a sleep number. Ours has separate adjustable chambers, and the head and feed area can be raised and lowered. Best bed for us.

AND of course I woke up this AM, and got to thinking, for the extra 300 bux to get some 1/2 inch of foam/pillow on each side, why not get the regular innerspring matt. and just buy some foam of what ever thickness we desire for either side of the bed, and just tuck it under the sheet??
wife has some of that under her sheet now, ....hummmm......
