SUV's are for people who don't like tight spaces. When I had Corvettes, most of them were convertible and I drove them with the top down whenever it wasn't raining because of the open space. I don't like to be in a tight space for too long time. That's why most of the cars that I owned before I went SUV were convertibles. I had 2 skin cancers, so that was it for convertibles for me.. Trucks and SUV's since.

Me too. I've always drove a sports car of some sort. I love it when SUV's try to keep up with me on the twisties. Damn high center of gravity get'em every time even if they have a hemi or something like that. Hey idiot, no matter how much power you have you're NOT in a sports car.

So, what is the message here? If you get hit from behind by a concrete mixer, make sure there is no concrete wall in front of you? That's like putting a vehicle in a one-sided car crusher.

My wife drives a Yukon XL, which is a pretty large vehicle. However, I have no doubt that it will fold up like an accordion if she hits something hard with it. There just isn't that much mass in the front until you get to the engine block. Lots of plastic and thin sheet metal.
