Default The Beatles!

Discuss.

Gear, musicianship, writing, innovativeness, influence, longevity, talent, lack of talent, love, hate, whatever. Thoughts?

Outside of Ringo excellent writers. Music played by Frank Sinatra to Major philharmonics. The beginning music sucked to bubble gum. Rubber Soul and on the music was great.

One of my favorite bands. Got to see them in Cincinnati in 1964.

The 2nd Paul who replaced the 1st Paul helped to prolong their popularity as did the Psychedelics.

Compared to Ed Sullivan on a Black & White picture tube, they looked hip, and were more entertaining than Popo Gigio.

Was really too young to get the whole gist of the phenomenon, but did ride 10 speed bike 15 miles on drugs to see a matinee showing of the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton in the Color Version Film of "Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band".

Gotta say for a Musical, it rivaled "Grease" for visual appeal even if it didn't have a Drag Race Scene in the Los Angeles River Concrete Ditch. The Beetle's Music was superior to the Grease Soundtrack.

Thankful that the Beetles paved the way for American kids to dig the British Scene as they Pioneered the way for: The Who, Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath.

They made the Mop Top doo popular ahead of Justin Bieber.

Skinny Ties came back for a brief stint in the 80s.

Ask 100 people how to spell Beetle, and 50 Boomers will spell it Beatle.

Those Beatle Boots were good for sliding on ice, and bumper skitching in the snow.

Ringo was a heck of an actor as a Caveman in something forgettable.

Young girls getting all hysterical in the 60's make it mainstream for girls of the 2000's to do the same for the Jonas Brothers.

The Beatles kinda made Elvis do drugs, wear jumpsuits, and drink Booze in Vegas as he got his sideburns all bushy.

Are the Beatles in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yet ?

Disco was ultimate death knell to the Beatles.

Spandex, Big Hair, Sex, Drugs, and well, not the Beatles came thereafter.

Some decent thematic elements worthy of a Music History Term Paper somewhere within this thread. pArTy-oN Beatles Fans - pArty oN

We get by with a little help from our ( Forum ) friends, oooh yeah...

I like the bubble gum stuff. There’s a local tribute band that does great covers. It never occurred to me how much that chit rocks until I saw them play it live.

Absolute music machines. I can't name a song they did that I just flat don't like. No matter the era.

Two Hobo's that like a band with guys in their late 60's playing in front of thousands of teenagers that scream and play 3 chords don't like the Beatles. What a shock.
