Glad to know other states have figured it out, I have seen many situations such as Katrina, Texas Winter, etc... where organization and planning and resources available were inept.

FL has been the GOLD STANDARD from many decades, I hope we were able to assist them with their policies.

I hope he's alright. I rolled out of the cape yesterday at 3am.
Evacuations were rolled out to Zone C which is virtually all of the Cape.

They have experience with hurricanes, they know the dangers, they ignored the evacuation, cannot explain their decisions,
The biggest issue I see here is when it gets life-threatening due to rising waters, they cannot leave the house by boat or vehicle, they have a second-story so I guess that is where they will be shortly.

Authorities Warn That Hurricane Could Cause Florida To Have As Many Water And Power Shortages As California
U.S. · Sep 28, 2022 · BabylonBee.com

TAMPA BAY,

FL — Authorities are warning that the destructive power of Hurricane Ian is so severe that it could cause Florida to experience water and power shortage almost as bad as they have in California.

"This deadly storm could cause near California-levels of suffering," said NOAA Chief Meteorologist Storm McSerge. "This is absolutely devastating."

Local residents pointed out that they had always wondered what it's like to live in California, and they look forward to finding out. "We're preparing the way we always do," said local Florida man Buggs Crullers. "By stocking up on enough beer, cigarettes, and lotto tickets to last us a couple of weeks! If it gets as bad as a normal day in Cali, we'll be ready!"

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis attempted to quell fears, noting that even if power outages get as bad as they do in Gavin Newsom's state, at least Florida parents won't have to worry about their kids getting indoctrinated with CRT and trans ideology behind their parents' backs. "That's gotta count for something!" he said.

Sources also confirmed that if essential services and law enforcement resources are strained by the hurricane, it could cause Florida to have almost as much crime as New York City.

Like with Sandy? We sent all our equipment to the East Coast. Meanwhile the storm came here and took out our power grid also. I went almost two weeks without electricity because of that.

I'm not going to defend the actions of any governmental organizations with regard to Sandy response. However, we were without power at my house in NJ for 2 weeks ourselves, and there were lots of folks around us who were out for much longer.

Starting to pick up here pretty good. Light rain, gusts 40-50 MPH. Everything else normal. Talked to Marcus a bit ago, no power, lost a couple shingles. All in all, not bad considering.

Still up and running, Couple of short power adages, didn't last but a few minutes. Still dark, but it does look like I took a tree limb to the corner of the pool cage. Not to bad, Charlie took the entire cage. I will get outside when it gets light and survey further. Still light rain and winds around 30ish.

I expect to walk back to a disaster; when we're allowed/able to return.

We are on a 200' canal that is 6 houses from the Caloosa.
No way we still have a roof....
