And tropical storm warning. Looks like it’s slowed down and won’t reach us until late Thursday or early Friday. We’re staying as we’re well out of the reach of any possible storm surge.

I have some 30' elevation off the creek that slow feeds into the St. Johns river.....by time THAT much water arrives, the rest of the state is GAWN......

and the folks on the flood plain near the creek have been flooded as high as 5' over the house slabs since I been here....canoes, rowboats, and even power boats running up/down the road parallel the creek.....

A former very good friend lives in Naples, near Alligator Alley, in a stilt home built in the 80s. Other than losing the palm leaved thatched lanai a while back, the house has survived intact each time. You'll be fine. If you are in a storm surge area, get your vehicles to high ground ,

Aren't you on the west side of blanding here in Orange Park? What creek flows into the river? I'm not familiar with blanding crossing water until you get further north to McGirts Creek by Argyle Forrest.

We dodged a bullet this time.

We had canceled/changed our camping plans and we were lucky enough to change them back.
Kinda happy about it because we have a very nice site reserved for 4 nights.

They wind up for sale on 'bring a trailer' as 'low mileage car that needs some maintenance.'

Sometimes on Copart, where they ALL should end up as total losses.


I looked at a Tacoma 22 years ago when I was looking for a gently used truck and when I found a water line on the cowl behind the glove compartment and noticed all the underdash was rusty and there was sand on top of the evaporator box, I walked away.
For some strange reason, the MIL light was glowing steadily.

Quite a few new orleans car dealerships have vast expertise and experience with flooded vehicles, they will have many car transport trailers on standby.

Jacksonville should get rain from tomorrow noon until Saturday noon, with very little interruption.

The biggest concern is that since yesterday the storm is angling more east, at one time it was going into FL's armpit, the 2:00 PM shows landfall that appears to be south of Tampa Bay, and if this were to continue, all points south of Sarasota are in play.
