Default Baymax got some love.

Put his 4th starter in and figured out why he's been hit or miss for G. Ground wire was not attached to bell housing. Anyways, put 2 layers of heat tape around the starter to insulate since we thought it was heat soak. Also put on new rear rotors and pads. Fronts were done last weekend. Also pulled her seats and washed the Baymax seat covers and reinstalled. The starter in these things is a major PITA, but I've pretty much mastered it now.

Little guy is ready to rumble. If I had more time, he needs new front and rear main seals, new upper/lower ball joints all around, and I'd love to do a set of coil overs, but that's not gonna happen this summer. Ball joints...maybe. Everything else for another day. Expensive little dude.

Oh yeah, I also centered the steering wheel. It was always a little crooked to the right. Car drives straight, wheel need aligning. Putting the airbag back in is another PITA.

When I decided on my latest Suburban, the steering wheel was crooked. One of the "must do's" was straightening out the steering wheel.

The night I picked it up, the steering wheel was still crooked. I went right back and made an appointment to get it fixed. Got a full tank of petrol for them missing it

A "distant" ground will work the starter hard contributing to early failure. ( as you figured out)

Looking good man!

On a side note, I'm not so crazy about heat tape directly on the starter body.
Better to have a heat shield with tape on it so the heat can wick away from the starter more efficiently.
