You start out dead on key but as you taper off, you drop to a half step flat.

You have great tone/timbre though; particularly for this style. I'd bet with a few touch up lessons, your vocals would be awesome.

You have a good ear. The problem is I can't control the levels in the headphones. So the guitar was blasting my head off and I could barely hear the vocals. But the levels were good in the camera.

I need to fool with the set up a bit. My better mixer bit the dust so I have a small POS that doesn't have a lot of features.

Thanks. I used to perform professionally (about 18 years) but stopped about 7 years ago.

Well....it was a job. A very fun job, but a job none the less. It became harder and harder to sustain with my health situation and a family. Then, we moved across the country where I didn't have my list of musicians and die-hard fans. No longer could I put 400 people in the room. The venues didn't know me so I'd have to fight for gigs.

Above all, here in Austin, it doesn't pay. People play for tips. It doesn't make sense to fight the colossal struggle to put together a band (takes a year or more), work up a solid show and then book gigs for tips. Plus all the promotion and time to make sure the club has posters, papers have notices, mailing list gets sent, musicians show up, contracts get signed, blah blah blah.

In the Northeast, I was a known quantity. It was easy to book good paying gigs and get the best players in the area. I also had a team doing promotion (I owned a marketing firm).

Now I spend all of my time just trying to make ends meet. I miss it greatly.

All valid. I never played professionally, it was always a hobby. Sure, we did the bar scene 20-25 years ago, and it was a LOT of fun. But around that time, dance music was really ramping up and bar's that wanted to hire a rock band doing covers slowly disappeared.

I've gone through periods where I set the damn thing down for a while due to frustration, work, etc. But never for longer than a month or two. I bought a Tascam 4 track and noodled around with that for a spell. (I'd like another one now that everything is digital and SO much easier) I wouldn't mind playing out again. I'm a little older now, blazing fast playing has gone by the wayside, and I've calmed down considerably.

I think my exhaustion got so bad I could barely get through the day. I'd end up on the couch nodding off by 5:30 or so. I'm getting better now but nothing like when I was in my 30's.

I think if I had more energy, I'd probably play more.

The austin scene is rough for musicians. That's why a lot of bands from there branch out to Killeen, San Antonio, and Houston.
