Home security cameras
What do you know? What is a good brand? Is wireless better than hard wired? Bluetoothed to a PC and how does it record? Can they be looped? Whats a good price?

The only residential jobs I have done is mine and my neighbor's but have done a lot of commercial CCTV and the commercial stuff is $$$. I would go hardwired if at all possible some wireless does work but I don't think the life span is as good. Sam's Club has kits that start with 4 cameras and a DVR that would cheaper. Never used bluetooth to PC I can't help you with that but IP cameras are cool. If you don't have much outside lighting get a good Day/Night camera it will be color during the day then switch to B/W at night.
My neighbor ordered a kit off the Internet we installed it 2 or 3 years ago and it's still doing fine. Hope that helps good luck.

It depends on what you are trying to accomplish. As Security camera may mean something entirely different to me than you. Here are a few questions I ask. Will you need Night vision? What distance from the camera and subject will there be? Were you thinking wireless or wired? Think about were you are going to mount the camera / cameras. Will these be indoor or out door or combination? Is there power in the areas were you are planning on installing the cameras? Is there a need to store streaming video, still images or do you just want to monitor the video / image? Is this for personal or for Business use? This raises a lot of questions, legal questions? How do you plan on viewing the cameras, from a remote location or do you plan on viewing location were the camera / cameras are installed. Will you be using a PC or a Mac? Do you have a Mobile device you would like to view the cameras from, like an Iphone or Android phone? Are you going to have a computer run the cameras, are will these be independent cameras connected to a DVR / Monitor? I have used / installed many different cameras from your basic $15 GE usb webcam from Target to higher end units like Axis, Sony, Toshiba, pan tilt zoom cameras. There are pro and cons to analog vs. IP Cameras. There are a lot of questions, variables and options and you may be uncertain at this time. Not trying to make this complicated but once you narrow down some of these questions I would be better able to advise / steer you in the right direction. I am no means a expert but will provide you with a good base knowledge.
