I've been watching the BJ auction and was wondering about buyers fees on top of the auction price.
I just watch a real nice 55 Chev ragtop go through at 75K. Anyone know what the buyer had to pay?

Believe it or not, there are still some deals to be had there. One of my best friends, who is in the car business, has been going there for 16+ years and brings back a few cars and makes money on them.

Having said that, there is a lot of stupid money spent there on shit that ain't worth the money. Booze may play a part, but I think the TV cameras play a bigger role. How often do you see the ugly dude with some so-so chickie there buying some piece of shit and smiling for the TV.

A lot of overweight grey hairs with deep pocket and trophy wives in the crowd last night. I guess you gotta keep the little lady happy with new toys once in a while. It looked like the wives were driving the bidding and had big smiles when they won.

The big rich boys that specialize in doing dick length comparisons will do a lot more when the "better" cars come out.--

FWIW I have went to a couple B.J. events (Mohegan Casino in Connecticut) and many cars look much better on TV under those lights than they do in person.

Also FWIW, Christie Lee is much shorter in person than she looks on TV. She is also very cute and very easy to talk with. They were doing a segment, a camera broke down and while waiting for a replacement I talked with her for about 5 minuets!

I always record an watch later and FF through the commercials. And what seems like every fifth car being auctioned for another charity. I'm glad charities get some money from this, But spending ten minutes watching someone pay 150K for a new Mustang with some stripes painted on it does not interest me.
