Every time I see video of the new one all I can think of is the color is WRONG. Too olive and too much flop. FAIL, Ford.

The color is wrong but might not be able to correctly make it today with the newer paints available.
Here's the wife's cousin shooting it up with Steve and next is Chuck.

Auto makers haven't used lacquer paints in over 2 decades in part due to the environmental aspects. The base coat/clear coat stuff they use these days is way different.

You do understand Ford mass produces cars right? And that the assembly line paint department is not set up to paint with lacquer paint anymore right?

It's not like the body shop that would repaint your vette, one car at a time.

It's not like they're just painting ONE car, these cars are going to be mass produced.

So spray them in liquor.....who CARES??? just do it, and shut UP already.....as if anyone would notice???

and I can't fathom there would be any diff to a 'modern' paint in same color

What part of not set up to spray that type of paint do you not understand?

Old paints are lacquer based. Newer paints are water based. Old paints are single stage. Newer paints are two stage, with a base coat & then a clear coat.

Try pouring paint in your coffee maker & see if it works the same.

I imagine the .gov EPA types slither their way through Auto plants and what not from time to time. They would get popped, and the fallout would be YUGE.

Cars sold at B-J for charity go for big money since they make for nice tax write offs. The fact that it was vin 1 also drives the price up. The McQueen factor also had to help as well (Steve's son Chad helping promote the car).
