Put an LS in a Pinto. It would be more entertaining and a much better looking pos.

My Test and Tune last night involved switching from Dewar's to Whistlepig on the rocks while watching Gold's Garage on youtube. Great stuff.

At your age, shouldn't you be watching reruns of Matlock and Murder She Wrote?

We had GTPinto as a class in Regional SCCA in VA. Worst sounding cars other than the rotaries. They made those ponies move!

So if you were testing, what mods do you plan to do to decrease your times? How do you make the car your own, and not just the original engineering team's? Bigger cummutators? Overwind the armature? Prograsm the control circuits to send more power to the motor?

Where do you get performance enhancing parts for the car?

The nice thing is that the car isn't lame from the factory and doesn't need any mods to be fast. 9's is fast enough for me.
A Model S Plaid is very close to the NHRA limit before needing a cage and chute, so, there is zero need to mod unless you want to hack up your daily driver.

I never watched that crap when it came out. Columbo, yes.
And I've recently seen them all.

I'm GLAD I lived though the '60's and feel sorry for those who missed out, like yourself.

The nice thing about my Norelco electric shaver is that isn't lame from the factory and doesn't need any mods to work well. A fairly close shave is good enough for me. A Norelco electric is so close to a straight razor shave without needing all the prep, and there is zero need to change unless you want to hack up your face.

Some people care about sound, others care about looks. I care about acceleration and G-Forces. The car gets me exactly what I want and best of all, I get what I want in my reliable daily driver.

I built my own race car back in the day and ran low 9's. I even built a 406 600 HP engine myself..

I was single and had time to wrench. Now I have teenager kids, a business, a full time job and a wife that wants me to do nonstop home improvements. No time for spending hours and hours wrenching. My garage was fully equipped with engine lift etc.
Wrenching on cars is for single or retired guys.

By that logic, test and tune runs are for the same crowd. What's to be gained from proving factory performance more than once? I really don't follow the logic.

You guys are dicks. 😂 I guarantee Oliver had more fun beating on his car last night than I had painting a closet.

I'm not doing it to prove anything. I'm doing it to have fun. The reason I modded my Vettes was to make them faster to have more fun, not to prove anything. It just feels different to race a 9 second car vs. an 11 second car. The only reason I modded was to go faster. If a vehicle is already fast enough, there is no reason to mod.
