Maybe the husky deserved it. Nothing severe there, just maybe unnecessarily too many. If it's too long after whatever the husky did wrong, husky won't learn anything from what it sees as randomly being punished.

I would never smack my dog on the nose like that, too easy to damage some really sensitive tissues. It also looked like he grabbed the snout very forcefully. I've never had any Huskies, but my family has had GSDs for over 50 years, and with GSDs, this is a really bad idea. The tops of their heads are more or less armor plated, but the bones in their snouts are actually fairly fragile. A strong man's grip can break bones in that area.

Of course dogs need to be disciplined, especially in their early years, but this guy's methods appear cruel and unnecessarily risking serious injury to the dog. Additionally, the way he kept going back and going back and going back for more punishment looked like he had let his own emotions get completely out of control. This is a sign of poor leadership, which the dogs will understand.

Bullshit. There is NEVER a time that physical discipline is needed to train or correct a dog. If you believe otherwise, you should never be allowed to own a dog. The only thing that physical discipline teaches a dog is fear. They have no conecpt of right and wrong. They only know what pleases them and what frightens them.

It's called animal cruelty and it most certainly is enforced where I live. California...I have no idea.
