Friday Night Football:

• SMU @ Temple (7pm EST on ESPN)

In the Big XII, after their huge win over Texas last time we saw them, Oklahoma hosts UCF this week, and Sooners QB Dillon Gabriel faces his old team. Texas goes on the road to Houston. Both teams should be ready coming off byes following the Red River Shootout.

In the SEC, it’s the 3rd Saturday in October which means it’s Alabama vs. Tennessee. The Vols have recovered nicely from their shocking loss to UF with wins over Carolina and Texas A&M. So has ‘Bama following their loss to Texas. In Primetime Auburn hosts Ole Miss in the Hugh Freeze Bowl.

In the PAC, MASSIVE game between USC and Utah. USC looking to bounce back after getting beat down by Notre Dame, Utah with 1 conference loss must win or their chances to win the PAC fade to almost nothing. Washington hosts Arizona State following their huge win over Oregon, we’ll see if they’re able to avoid the big win hangover. Oregon has to get over the loss because they’ll face a very good Washington State team on Saturday.

In the ACC, Duke and FSU collide and the winner remains right at the top of the ACC race alongside UNC. Disappointing Clemson and Miami face off and the loser falls even further behind in conference play.

In the B1G, Michigan and Michigan State renew their rivalry. It’s a home game for Sparty, so the over/under is 1,000 for number of signs calling Michigan/Harbaugh cheaters. Even bigger game happening in Columbus though . . . .


GAME OF THE WEEK: #7 Penn State @ #3 Ohio State
Penn State has been great under James Franklin, but always playing the 3rd wheel to Michigan and Ohio State. Could this be the year that finally changes? QB Drew Allar, former #1 ranked recruit in the country, could be Penn State’s best QB yet. They’ve looked great so far, but now the real test begins. Ohio State has already been tested, and survived a nail biter against Notre Dame. But this one has B1G implications, and a loss here would push the Buckeyes to 3rd place in the East. Should be a good one.

you have a QB that elevates the whole team and fan base.. probably the best QB to come out of the PAC12 in decades ...He makes CFB fun to watch...

It makes it more fun to win. He will be the first player taken in draft and Michael Penix jr. will be the second player taken in the draft . Bo Nix will go between 10-15 in the first round.

I'll throw in why do they act like every decent play the team just won the championship.
This isn't soccer and a goal was scored.

Bama defense looks vulnerable. Their DB's are getting torn up.

Ohio State - dominant. Yeah, offense isn't as good as in the recent past. But their defense is better.

Oklahoma - playing with fire. Almost tanked their season.

Alabama - in some trouble. Not built to come from behind multiple scores this season, but it's still early and anything can happen.
