Default New Car - Buick Regal or Cadillac CTS

Looking to replace my daily driver.

I have been to the Cadillac dealer and drove an entry level CTS (what I am looking for)

I have not drove the Regal but looking online it seems much better equipped and at a much lower price point. Hope to drive one tomorrow.

The warranty with the Cadillac that includes maintenance is not a factor for reference.

Thoughts on either?

Thanks

My thoughts initially but price is a strong deciding point. An entry level CTS is about $38k with basically no options. An entry level regal is $27k with many more options, the main ones are: real leather, bluetooth, ipod connectivity, and power driver/passenger seats.

It seems easy but what are some concrete reasons?

I’m not trying to bash the Cadillac … but an employee of mine just traded in his CTSV for a BMW, because he had to take the CTSV back several times for constant rear-end problems.

I've actually ridden in a Regal once and I liked it ... but it was a rental, so I didn't really drive it hard.

Presently have an 07 CTS (sport edition). Came with 18" wheels, 6 speed shiftable auto, 3.42 rear end along with the traction control and the 3.6 V6. Runs good and is comfortable. Gets fairly good mileage (25 mpg on the interstate).Car only had 12,000 miles when I bought it about 15 months ago. Well taken care of. Have to say it took about 8 months and many test drives till I found this one. Good luck with whatever you choose. For me, I would get the CTS.

I don't think there is a better looking car on the market right now at that price point.

The V tends to be quirky, heard some issues with them.

Thanks Gene, the '11 has the 3.0 V6, but very limited in options. Not real leather, no fog lamps, USB connection and etc. Also I have never seen such a cheap azz key and fob, it does not look good.

I do like the RWD platform though.

I like the look of the new Regal. Yamma and I saw one on the road this weekend and both commented on how nice it looked to be a Buick.

My .02 - go Buick.

Should get better than 25MPG.

How much is the CTS you like?

Just saw it at $38k in your other post. Between those two I would opt for a loaded up GS over the CTS. Its the sportier of the two by far with the $19's, brembos, 6 speed manual etc.. Puts out good power too at 255hp/295tq. There is alot of tuning potential too.

Previous gen CTS-V's were notorious for rear diff porblems. Not an issue on the current generation.
