Yeah... I quit my job at Trader w/o anything lined up... I was going crazy there. Sold Porsches/Audis/Jags while I looked for someting better. Working as an analyst/project manager for a local petroluem company now... been here a year in November.

I was talking realistically... figure most of us have "around" $50k tied up in our cars some more, some much more.

Again... drive one at speed through turns and it'll change your mind. That is if you appreciate cars that handle.

The old joke about exotics is that plenty of people can afford to purchase them, just not very many can afford to service them.

If I didn't have my vette, I wouldn't be in any other cars - still be in a lifted chevy 2500HD pickup.

Except, these days, you can roll an '04/'05 Gallardo for around $100K...

I believe you they can handle well and they do not look that bad. I was playing with one a few weeks ago and I think in a straight line I could have beat him off the line with my Silverado 2500HD, needless to say in my Vette it was not worth the gas.

Well, I'm sure it handles wonderfully but I need hard acceleration, deceleration AND handling. My Vette delivers on all.

Did you guys miss the part in my first post where I said I'd put the turbo kit on it 420+ rwhp on stock motor w/ 5.5lbs of boost. Over 500 rwhp with new pistons/rods.

As long as I can buy a Corvette, I do not need to consider buying a Porsche.

Speaking of Porsche, a guy at work has an 911 with GT body parts on it, looks pretty nice but when he goes to the cruise-ins he said nobody stops to look at it. I am wondering if people are ignoring him because they think he is a rich snob (which he isn't) or are people so ignorant they do not realize what a fine machine it is, maybe it is something else.

I'd take a Porsche 911 turbo in a heartbeat.

Something with AWD since I live in snow country. I wish the R34 Skyline was over here, but no such luck.

Probably settle for an STI or an AWD BMW at my current price range.

I don't think you understand how much I dislike the Boxster/Gayman. I don't really care how it drives, I know how it looks.
