When I first got the Vette I ran over the top of a parking block with the front bumper and almost had a heart attack! Whenever I park now I stop short and when I get out I'm about 3 feet from the block. Maybe a little too cautious but better safe than sorry.

They are not there to bounce your front tires off of, they are there to bounce off your $500 piece of fiberglass.

(At some point in time, you'll do it anyways, everyone does...But the reminder never hurts).

Looks good too!

I've never done it yet. But, it took the wife all of 10 days to smash up my hard work.
Looks good Munch. Nice match on the paint.
Let's see some of those full body shots homie!

I've done that plenty of times too....and felt much better about it compared to the time I bounced it off the curb (did that only once).

I mentioned this once at CF, as someone was complaining about repeatedly running into curb blocks with it, as if it was some sort of a product flaw.
They didn't appreciate me advising them basic parking tips either....But seriously, how many times does it take before you finally figure out where the front of your car is?

Have had mine repaired and repainted, so far, only once. I try to back into the space instead of pulling in. Did you have the bottom of the splitter painted? Had mine shot with black.

Looks great Munch!

Do you get to remove the 3-piece rubber / plastic OEM pieces when you use this splitter?

The 2 flexible corner pieces get removed. (The splitter utilizes some of those bolt holes).
The hinged center section remains in place on the car, as it's primary function is direct air up into the radiator...but with the splitter, it's not easily visible.

The center part of the ACI is open in the front, but it looks like it is blocked in the back. Will this not reduced the air flow for cooling? If it is blocked can it be opened up to allow more air flow?

The splitter is dished up in the back yes but it's right at the rear of the opening for the radiator and then the factory air dam goes behind it sort of creating an air tunnel right to the radiator. I have heard some people say their temps went up marginally but I have not experienced that at all so far.

Thanks Munch, I just ordered mine a few minutes ago. Cannot wait for it to get here.

On a side note, I was planning to have it painted to match the body, but when I first thought about putting one on sometime ago I thought it might look good in a satin black but just was not sure how it would look. Well yesterday I found this post on the Digital Corvette Forum and I think it will look good on my Torch Red. The picture is about half way down.

I've seen pics of red Vettes with the ACI painted black and actually it looks pretty good. I think you'd be safe going either way.

Those holes the guy had drilled in his splitter look kinda cool.

They do look cool, and he says there is the mesh tyer screen behind them. I may think about doing it to mine also. If gives it a little different look. I will post up what I do when it arrives. He also said that he painted it himself with the Duplicolor rattle cans of Satin Black. Not sure if I want to try and do it myself.

thanks for all the info and feedback.

If you're going black paint it youself, you can always wet sand any dirt or blobs out and if it really turns out bad you can resand it and have someone else paint it.

I will probably give it a try. I have painted small parts before. As long as I prep it, sand it, tackrag it, and prime it properly, I think it will be fine. Only issue now, is when will I receive it. I just checked my e-mail and i received a notice that the ACI splitter is back ordered. So no telling when I will get it. Oh well as the saying goes "good things come to those who wait".

Painting is the easy part. Wetsanding isn't bad either. Polishing it is a PIA. Cause of the shape, it mostly has to be done by hand. Not bad, just time consuming really.
