Default Picked up a little Miata!

Ran across a good deal on a MX5 a couple of days ago. Been kinda looking for one for the wife. This one is a two owner 2001 base model but has an automatic trans, power windows and locks, cruise, ac, never wrecked or smoked in with 130k miles. Got it for $5500. Click image for larger version

About 18 years ago, my wife admired my sisters little Miata, up in Pa.....and so I shopped around and found a RED with black interior/top '91 Miata here in OPark Fl.......just down the street a bit....bought it for a grand even.....some few years later, we sold it for only 1700 bux..

they are NICE cars, we took a trip down south for a few daze, had a great time....I had to fix some minor thing rong on front of the engine....I forget what but it was a relatively minor part......

Many smiles and miles to you,

I think your wife will like it - if she gets a chance to drive it

A hiking partner of mine loved her Miata. They are a fun ride.

I loved my '89 MX-6 GT. It was my first new car.

My brother in law had a Miata with a manual. He traded it in for 2019 Grand Sport Corvette.

I remember back in the late 80’s early 90’s, these smaller sport cars were all the rage. My cousin had a Toyota MR2 that he let me borrow when I was home on leave. Lots of fun to drive even with the limited power.

My '99 Miata was the best car I've ever owned. I spent less on maintenance for it over 19 years than any other car I've owned. I drove it like I stole it and entered it into a race every time I got into it. It never missed a beat or left me stranded. I still want to kill the dumbass who ran a stop sign and totaled it 3 years ago. Insurance refused to pay me market for it, and I couldn't replace it with even a beater when all was said and done with the case.

No doubt. But she needs as little distractions as possible.

I flip a few cars each year. Four Miatas previously. I've had a '91 with a Greddy Turbo, '93, 2000 and 2001. All were stick. I did let her drive the '01 I had a couple of years ago and she really liked it.
I started looking a few months ago figuring I'd pick her one up after the houses closed (one bought, one sold). I figured I'd get her a play car. She didn't make a peep when I was Corvette shopping the last couple of months and I came in under budget on the Vette I bought.
The best parts is I still have a little cabbage left to maybe pick up a C4 driver!

Absolutely ruins everything great about the factory 50/ 50 weight distribution. Turns it into just another turd of a car that can only go fast in a straight line for a short distance. Ran with them through aggressive Twisties in SoCal and they can't go around a corner, then want to race everybody on straights as they try and pass them to be able to enjoy the road.

Nice. I love Miatas. Had a 95 that was probably in the top three all time favorite cars of all I've owned. I regretted trading it off for a C4 nearly the moment I handed the keys over.
Liked it enough that I bought this one for my 15 year old daughter to drive while we redo her real love, the '79 'vette.
She told me she wanted the pink stripes and interior stuff "so you won't drive it all the time, dad" Shoot, I'm looking for a matching pink shirt to wear while I drive it. It's a stick too, and she drives it like Mario Andretti- both feet on the floor, shifting at 5 grand. Riding with her is enough to make an atheist pray through to a walk with God.

I think they are really neat cars, despite the stigma that some seem to have about them.

TBH, over the summer, I considered buying a new RF prior to buying the 96 LT4.

It's a beautiful looking car.
