The fit could be a little tighter. That's gonna take a lot of filler.

The gap that you see between the tails measures approximately .020". Too thin to slip a dime between. There is no dovetail bit on earth that can do that, so I'm afraid I have to cut them by hand. I find the process extremely relaxing. Something cool to drink and Duke Robillard playing some jazz or swing in the background.

Ever do those micro-dovetails all the way down the corners? I think that would look really cool, but I couldn't imagine the difficulty level.

I'm not sure that I know what you are talking about, but I would love to see a picture. I'm always up for a challenge.

I have a question. What does the different spacing get you over an evenly spaced dovetail? Looks? It seems like it would be weaker.

Nothing. Just the look of handcraftsmanship. Properly cut dovetail joints are one of the strongest joints in woodworking. Glued together with Titebond III, the wood will fail before the joint ever will.

I don't know enough to figure out how to search for it. Instead of one pin in the middle of the pin board, it would be a bunch of pins evenly spaced all the way down. Kind of like this picture, just smaller:
