The idea behind the emergency measures were to flatten the curve. The curve is very much flattened. We need to open up at least the areas of the country that don't have a bunch of cases. Like my area. We currently have five cases, not sure if they are even verified, and none are hospitalized. New York City and New Jersey can stay closed for all I care, but these places have nothing in common with the other 98% of the country. We won't let them move the goalposts that they are certainly trying to move.

We have 10 cases with one death here , an elderly lady visiting from Florida. I can apply to jobs but they all say we will keep your application on hand until work resumes to normal.

Because the person is such a sweet girl, I had to step away from a Facebook debate about all this crap. She is an ICU nurse in Houston (which is NOT NEAR capacity) stating to anyone not taking it seriously, that they should be the 41st patient when only 40 ventilators exist. I made a comment that the availability of equipment does NOT dictate the severity of the ailment. They are two distinct problems. A broken arm is the same break whether it happens in the woods or in the parking lot of the hospital. The severity remains the same, the ability to treat it is all that changes. Don't make ME stay at home because the hospital, city, state, isn't prepared. There is no way to be 100% ready for anything, but there is no need for it to be chaos either. The balance point was GROSSLY incorrect on all fronts. Severity, response, location, demographic...you name it.

Plenty of other people have no problem at all discussing all sorts of things with me. But perspective is everything. To me, you and Murray seem to be totally focused on proving ANYTHING I type is wrong, to the point where Murray is arguing about what was said in a data source YOU provided. The above is a perfect example, my post said NOTHING about COVID 19, but you felt you NEEDED to respond in some kind of attempt to make it look like what I posted is "wrong", without making a single comment about the contents of my post.
