USA is sitting at 83 deaths per million people

Sweden is sitting at 118 deaths per million people.

Not a horrendous difference but two totally different countries

Look at Sweden’s neighbors where restrictions are in place and Denmark is sitting at 55 deaths per million and Finland is sitting at 13 deaths per million.

Both countries are comparable geographically and in over all size.

Sweden is currently looking at changes thanks to the numbers they are posting.

Actually the only valid way is to compare different populations where lockdowns were imposed or not imposed. Sweden is a good comparison at the moment since they have not imposed a lockdown. The per capita COVID death rate in Sweden is not terribly different from the U.S. and is significantly lower than, for example, Michigan. Time will tell which approach is best. Remember that the CDC’s best case projected death toll a couple of weeks ago was 100,000 to 240,000 if we pretty much shut the entire country down. We shut the country down and now the CDC is revising that number down significantly. That, along with California’s projection, shows that such projections have huge margins of error. There is typically no way to prove why something didn’t happen, and assuming a correlation between two events is proof of causation is not valid.

Close, but not quite. We keep reminding you that the idiotic projections from your idiotic Governor weren’t even close. That is a good thing. California’s per capita death rate is lower than the U.S. A handful of states, mostly in the north central and northeast part of the country, especially NY, are bad. The entire rest of the country not so much.

Maybe people were smart enough to ignore Pelosi’s stupid advice.
