Default Lingenfelter 10 rib supercharger upgrade

I upgraded my Vette from the TVS 1900 to the TVS 2300 supercharger, during my dyno run Ed Hutchings couldn't do a WOT due to belt slippage. He recommended I upgrade my belt system and I decided to go with the Lingenfelter 10 rib supercharger kit. In finally have a few days off to upgrade the belt system.

I started the tear down today, a few more parts to remove tomorrow then I can start reassembly. The 10 rib belt system should give me room to expand in the future.

Past couple of days have been painful. Balancer came off easy enough but the flipdrive bracket would not come off. I ended up grinding, cutting, dremeling, chiseling, bleeding and swearing but the bracket is off in several pieces FINALLY. Hopefully tomorrow I can start reassembly.

Doing good. Yes, work keeps me busy then stuff around the house.

Since its warming up need to get out in the garage and work on my car!

Trying to figure out what's wrong the the right front end wheel or axle. No obvious signs of rubbing or indication of the sound. Maybe bearing or ball joint or just the wheel!

How is the upgrade on the belt going?

Spent a few hours trying to put things back together. This is one of those upgrades that is painful nearly every step.

This 10-rib kit did not contain any instructions, figuring things out one item at a time, nothing major but some parts I am trying to figure out. I discovered the ATI balancer kit did not contain any bolts, had to wait for them to arrive. Installed the balancer, grabbed my gate laser alignment tool and noticed the SC pulley and balancer was two ribs off, WTF, I was so pizzed off I had to walk away for a couple of days. Today got back to it, decided to use straight edge to check, friggin laser tool is off.

Next problem, bolted on the 10-rib pulley to the supercharger, then tried to move the pulley, the pulley wouldn't turn. Measured the inside diameter of the pulley, way to small. Called Lingenfelter they recommended I sand to make enough clearance. I instead called Magnacharger and have a pulley on order.

Next, idler pulley time that bolts under the air intake, the 90mm idler pulley is to big and will not fit. Time to order the correct size pulley, I will email Lingenfelter to let them know another included part is not usable on this upgrade.

After securing the balancer, installed the rack, yet another PITA part to install. Decided it was time for beer, heading to work tomorrow, maybe next week I can get it back on the road.

What is the right front end doing, noise, pulling?

See above for my PITA 10-rib upgrade status.

Before heading to work today I was able to start it up. I need to bleed the air out of the fluids, need to tighten a few more bolts and then tie wrap hoses/wires. Currently running with an 8-rib belt to get everything bled, new 10-rib belt will be delivered Wednesday. If all goes well, Thursday I will be back on the road again, I will take pics Thursday.

I managed to install the heavy duty belt tensioner today, 3" idler pulley and 10-rib belt.

The plate for the belt tensioner didn't lineup, hit the mount points with the drill then I was able to mount.

Next problem, the belt tensioner plate extended into the location of the power steering reservoir. I was able to bolt the stock power steering reservoir bracket to the belt tensioner bracket, all is good now.

Installed earlier, difference between 10-rib water pump and stock water pump.

Really heavy duty belt tensioner, I had to pop the cap to remove the bolt to install the 10-rib pulley.

New location of the power steering pump reservoir, only moved about two inches from magnacharger install location.

The 10-rib kit came with 3.5" idler pulley to go under the TVS 2300 intake, to big to fit. I ordered a 3" pulley, to clear the TVS, I had to grind the flange off as it was touching the TVS. I need to search for another pulley but this will work for now.

Finally running on 10-rib belt.
