Loki was diagnosed with Anaplasmosis as the tick disease.
He's a little "off" I gave him his med to coat his tummy. Once he becomes "normal" again we can start him on his antibiotic.

Because of this incident with our vet (after 20+ yrs of seeing our pets) I have changed to the new vet. What good is a vet if they can't make time to see a sick animal??

Vets are really busy. My wife quit taking new clients so she could better serve the existing ones. She needs to hire another vet, but none are available to work. She managed to find a couple of part timers, but one of them is really unreliable. She will make time for her regular clients in an emergency, but otherwise she's scheduling a couple of weeks out.

Exactly! My family (since the 1990's) have you used this vet hospital. So it isn't like we were new clients. And when a pet owner calls and says, "my dog has liquid poop pouring out..." You do not say we can't see your dog until some 8 days out. I would have rather sat in the office and waited for the chance to have them see him.

The new vet and clinic was wonderful. I called them at 10 am and they made time to see Loki at 2:45.

Vets here appear to very busy as well. Seems to be a shortage because of the scamdemic. A few months ago, Nukka wasn't feeling well, and we called around to the local vets. The only place that could take her in that night was an hour and a half away!

I agree that is unreasonable. You don't build client loyalty that way. That's exactly why my wife had to stop taking new clients for a while. Once she hires a reliable person to fill in, she'll start taking them again.

I had one that was also a good friend. Sometimes all I had to do was call ANYTIME. He would leave meds in the mailbox for me, meet me there, etc...then he retired...

We do have a couple of emergency vet offices. One is reasonable and the the other $$$$

Loki is at the vet again. Couldn’t get him in to the regular vet, so we’re at the emergency hospital. While he has an appetite for chicken and rice, he hasn’t pooped in two days.

This COVID shit sucks. We can’t go in to see him. We’re stuck in the parking lot since 2:10 this afternoon. We can go inside to use the bathroom only, and we have to mask up to do it.

It’s been 3 hours since we’ve had an update on him.

Oh, and while we’ve been here, at least 6 other customers came to pick up the remains of their pets.

Damn, that sucks. Our vets opened up for people to enter a few weeks ago. Part of me thinks that they just have the no people policy because they're lazy asses that don't want to answer questions.
